New Tow Hook Design
Bumper mount tow hooks are now mandatory on all cars in most organized race events. They are not required in driver education events, but are preferred. With this said, it is very important for Rennline to offer a tow hook that is user friendly in a wide range of applications.
Rennline has spent the last year absorbing customer’s feedback relating to their needs and issues with our current universal race tow hook line. It became very evident that the greatest installation problem customers were encountering was the variation in tow hook lengths required for the different depths, in which fiberglass bumpers are available.
Another issue was that customers were never exactly sure of the tow hook length required until they were in the middle of the actual installation. This has drastically increased the amount of unwanted exchanges in order to supply the customer their desired tow hook lengths. Several dollars in shipping costs and prolonged installation times were the result due to product exchange lead times.
Rennline is very excited to introduce a new product that puts all of these concerns to rest. Our new adjustable tow hook was specially designed with the 1974-1989 911 based cars in mind. The mounting holes on this hook are the same spacing as the factory bumper shock mounting holes, making installation a breeze. Although this unit is a bolt on application for the front and rear of most 1974-89 911’s with fiberglass bumpers, it is a perfect solution to many custom race car configurations. Once this hook is installed it can easily be adjusted in length from 9 to 12 inches in 1 inch increments allowing the customer to easily set the desired amount of tow hook protruding through the bumper. As are all Rennline Tow Hooks, these are powder-coated red and come with (2) tow stickers.
